When pomegranates are in season, make sure to have this savory recipe at bay and drink up a healthy dose of antioxidant.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup fresh pomegranate juice
2 cups frozen cherries
2 organic bananas
3 cups chard or other leafy green (optional)
4 ounces of filtered water (optional if needed)
DIRECTIONS
For juicing the pomegranate, empty the seeds in a strainer and use a spoon to mash them. You may also use bottled pomegranate juice, if preferred.
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and set to high speed for 30 seconds or just until smooth. Serve.
