    Refreshingly flavorful for a breakfast smoothie or for any time of the day.

    INGREDIENTS

    1/2 cup pitted dates
    1/2 cup nonfat milk
    3 tablespoons malt powder
    1 1/2 cups nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt

    DIRECTIONS

    • Put all the ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth.

    INGREDIENTS

    6 dates soaked in coconut water.
    remaining coconut soak water (originally two small coconuts) plus the contents of another coconut.
    6 very ripe bananas covered with brown spots.

    DIRECTIONS

    • Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth.

    This delicious smoothie recipe makes use of dried dates, black tea powder and dairy milk or coconut milk. Add in the optional ingredients for more flavors.

    INGREDIENTS

    * 1/2 cup coconut milk or milk
    * 10 dried, pitted dates
    * 1 peeled, frozen banana
    * 1 tsp. black tea powder (Store-bought or ground in an electric spice grinder or coffee grinder)
    * (Optional) 1/4 cup pineapple juice or orange juice
    * (Optional) 1 tsp. coconut flakes
    * (Optional) 1/8 tsp. pure vanilla extract or 1 scoop vanilla whey powder or soy protein powder

    DIRECTIONS

    • Put all the ingredients into the blender. Combine until smooth.
    • Pour into a glass and serve.
    • Makes 1 to 2 servings.

    Sweet smoothie recipe blending in the flavors of almonds and dates.

    INGREDIENTS

    * ½ cup strawberries
    * ¼ cup almonds, soaked
    * 3 dates, pitted and soaked
    * 1 cup water

    DIRECTIONS

    • Soak almonds and dates in separate bowls for a few hours. Rinse and combine with the remaining ingredients into a blender. Puree until smooth and serve.

    6-7 dates
    2 heaping tablespoons of almond butter
    2 medium bananas, sliced

    • Soak dates for an hour or until soft.
    • For a creamier and cold smoothie, freeze banana slices ahead of time.

    Coconut Date Shake

    This healthy smoothie recipe is the perfect meal for the people on the go. Some ingredients can be prepared and stored for future use and have them readily available anytime.

    INGREDIENTS

    * 1-2 c. frozen banana pieces (freeze as many as you want, for future use)
    * 1/3 c. or so of "cashew milk", or a handful of raw cashews, or some raw almonds (soaked overnight in some water)
    * 1-2 TBS. or so of coconut cream (more if using coconut milk)
    * small handful dates, pitted
    * cold water as needed, for blending

    DIRECTIONS

    • Peel and slice the bananas. Cover a tray with a thick plastic bag and lay the banana pieces over them. Freeze the bananas and store in resealable bags until using.
    • To prepare, put all the ingredients in a blender. Combine until smooth and enjoy!

    INGREDIENTS

    * 1 cup nonfat yogurt
    * 1 cup nonfat milk
    * 1 cup (packed) pitted Medjool dates (about 9 ounces)
    * 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    * 2 cups ice cubes

    DIRECTIONS

    • Place yogurt, milk, dates and vanilla into the blender. Process until smooth. Add the ice cubes and continue blending until thick and smooth. Pour over glasses and serve.
    • Makes 2 servings.

    INGREDIENTS

    * 1 cup Milk (I used Vanilla Soymilk)
    * 4 Medjool dates, pitted, chopped
    * 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    * 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    * 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
    * 1/8 teaspoon ginger
    * 1/8 teaspoon cloves
    * 1/8 teaspoon Chile Powder (optional)
    * 1/16 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (optional)
    * 3/4 cup sliced ripe banana
    * 3/4 cup Ice

    DIRECTIONS

    • Combine milk and dates in a blender. Set to high speed to properly blend in the dates with the milk. Add the remaining ingredients and blend to a smooth and creamy finish.
