    Strawberry-Mango Soy Milk Smoothie

    This refreshing fruit smoothie recipe is ideal for lactose intolerant. It is also low-fat, low-calorie and is cholesterol-free. What more can you ask for?

    INGREDIENTS

    * 1 cup vanilla-flavored soy milk
    * 1/4 cup orange juice
    * 1/4 cup refrigerated or frozen egg product, thawed
    * 1 Tbsp. honey
    * 1/2 cup chopped, peeled mango
    * 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or boysenberries

    DIRECTIONS

    • In a blender, combine soy milk, orange juice, egg product and honey. Cover and puree for 10 seconds.
    • Add mango and frozen berries. Cover and puree until smooth.
    • Pour mixture into two tall glasses and serve.
    • Makes 2 servings.

    This delicious smoothie recipe is an ideal treat for breakfast and helps out a great deal especially for those who are trying to lose weight.

    INGREDIENTS

    * 2 cups strawberry-flavored juice blend or strawberry drink, chilled
    * 2 cups fresh or frozen, unsweetened strawberries
    * 1 8-ounce carton plain yogurt
    * 2 to 4 tablespoons sugar or honey
    * 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    * Toasted wheat germ with brown sugar and honey (optional)

    DIRECTIONS

    • In a blender, put strawberry juice blend, strawberries, yogurt, sugar, and vanilla. Puree until almost smooth.
    • Pour into 4 glasses and top with sprinkles of wheat germ.
    • Makes 4 servings.

    This smoothie is great for breakfast as it packs in a hefty serving of nutrition in every serving.

    INGREDIENTS

    * 1 banana
    * 1/2 apple
    * 1 kiwi, peeled
    * 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
    * 1 cup orange juice
    * 1/2 cup soy milk
    * 1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt
    * 1/2 cup tofu
    * 3 tablespoons unsalted natural peanut butter
    * 2 tablespoons aloe vera juice
    * 2 tablespoons flaxseed oil
    * 1 teaspoon barley grass powder (optional)

    DIRECTIONS

    • In a blender, put the first five ingredients and puree until smooth.
    • Add soy milk, yogurt, tofu, peanut butter, aloe vera juice, flaxseed oil, and barley grass powder. Combine well until smooth.
    • Pour into glasses and enjoy!

    It can’t get any crazier than this, Cilantro for smoothie? But this is definitely something worth trying.

    INGREDIENTS

    * 1 cup almond milk
    * 1 cup coconut water
    * 1 cup papaya
    * 1 cup cilantro
    * 8 large strawberries
    * 4 dates

    DIRECTIONS

    • For the almond milk, soak a cup of almond for hours. Drain and mix with 3 cups of filtered water. Strain mixture in a nut milk bag and add sweetener or vanilla for added flavor. Chill and store in an air-tight container.

    You may add or substitute any fruits you prefer (blueberries, mangoes, or peaches) or use pineapple juice for orange juice.

    INGREDIENTS

    * 1 large ripe banana, peeled and sliced
    * 1 cup washed strawberries, stems and hulls removed
    * 1/2 cup raspberries or peeled and sliced kiwis (about 2 kiwis)
    * 1 cup plain yogurt
    * 1/4 cup orange juice
    * 2 tablespoons honey

    DIRECTIONS

    • Combine all the ingredients together in a blender. Set to high speed, mixing until smooth for about 45 seconds.
    • Pour into glasses and enjoy!

    INGREDIENTS

    1 cup seeded, quartered mangoes
    1 cup stemmed, halved strawberries
    1 banana, quartered
    1 cup ice cubes
    1 cup plain yogurt
    1/2 cup orange or pineapple juice
    1/2 cup dark rum
    1/4 cup fresh lime juice
    1/4-cup coconut flakes

    DIRECTIONS

    • In a blender, crush the ice cubes. Add the fruit, yogurt, juice, rum and lime juice. Set blender to high and puree until frothy and thick.
    • Pour mixture into 2 tall glasses and add 2 tablespoons of coconut flakes over each. Serve.
